City of Waleska, Georgia PUBLIC NOTICE To Call and Authorize a Special Election on March 17, 2026; to Publish the Qualifying Fee; and to Announce Qualifying Dates Notice is hereby given in accordance with O.C.G.A. §21-2-540 that the City of Waleska, Georgia shall hold a Special Election to fill a vacancy in the office of Post 6 of the Waleska City Council. Post 6 is an at-large Council seat. The Special Election shall be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Anyone interested in qualifying for candidacy shall file a Notice of Candidacy in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Waleska and must meet the qualifications of the Charter and Code of Ordi nances, as well as applicable State of Georgia laws and Federal and State Constitutional laws. Qualifying for the election shall be held at Waleska City Hall located at 8891 Fincher Road, Wale ska, Georgia 30183 on Monday, February 2, 2026, Tuesday, February 3, 2026, and Wednesday February 4, 2026. The hours of qualifying on these dates shall be between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Per O.C.G.A. §21-2-131 the qualifying fee for the at-large council seat is $72.00, which is 3% of the total gross salary of the preceding year.
